The mighty, not-for-profit, sudo-government agency known as LCRA has jurisdiction over septic systems installed with 1/2 mile of the lakes and rivers in Central Texas. This is another great reason to use a realtor with local knowledge when buying or selling in the area. There is an inspection process required whenever property changes ownership. Costs and handling of this issue can be significant.
